John Calvin wrote that wisdom “consists almost entirely of two parts: the knowledge of God and of ourselves.” An introduction to spiritual formation can best begin by learning more about ourselves. In this module, we will take a look at our God-given talents, learned skills, spiritual gifts, and personalities, so that we can know how God has designed us to serve.
We will undertake three inventories in preparation for this module: a spiritual gift inventory, a ‘sacred pathways’ evaluation, and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (R). When you register for this certificate program you will be contacted by the instructor with information about completing these inventories ahead of the class. The full profile for the MBTI test is optional.
Please note: to cover the cost of the inventories, there will be an additional charge of $39 plus tax, instead of $135 for the module, it will be $174 for this first module if you decide to take the MBTI inventory test.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the various ways God equips us in life and ministry
- Discover how gifting and personality preferences come together to make each one’s spiritual formation journey different
- Appreciate that there are different ways that people connect most easily with God.
