Couples Therapy Approaches

This webinar will focus on two empirically supported couple therapy approaches: 1) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for Couples, and 2) Integrative Behaviour Couple Therapy (IBCT). An overview of CBT for Couples will include assessment, key interventions and treatment sequence. A review of IBCT will cover formulation as well as acceptance and change strategies. Presenter

Dr. Kristen Adams

Dr. Adams is a registered psychologist who works with couples in private practice settings. She received her Ph.D. from York University where she trained with Dr. Leslie Greenberg, one of the developers of Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). She participated as a therapist in Dr. Greenberg and Dr. Malcolm’s research project about resolution of couples’ emotional injuries and frequently sees couples who have experienced a breach of trust in their relationship. She draws on a range of therapy approaches in her work with couples.
