Biography

Sharon is currently finishing up her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Manitoba. Her research interests are primarily in areas of perinatal (pregnancy to 12 months postpartum) mental health and trauma. She is the recipient of the prestigious Canada Graduate Scholarship from the Social Science and Humanities Research Council among other grants to fund her dissertation research. She has presented and spoken in international conferences on topics relating to relationships in context of intimate partner violence. Sharon is currently also working as a therapist under the supervision of registered clinical psychologists, providing therapy from an integrative framework based on CBT, EFT, ACT, and FST. She also has experience providing manualized gold-standard therapies for trauma including CPT, PET, and WET. Sharon has extensive experience working in both private practice settings as well as in- and out-patient settings within hospitals, providing psychological care to individuals presenting with issues including but not limited to, depression, anxiety, bipolar, personality disorders, grief and loss, relational difficulties, trauma, and emotional dysregulation.
