Compass 2026*

New Student Orientation *(formerly known as Cultivate).

FIND YOUR PLACE, DISCOVER YOUR CITY, CONNECT WITH YOUR PEOPLE

Get ready to find your True North at Tyndale University! Kick off your learning journey with three unforgettable and exciting days designed to launch you into university life.

Whether you are moving into residence or commuting from home, COMPASS 2026 is your definitive guide to navigating life at Tyndale.

COMPASS 2026 is way more than just figuring out where your classes are.  It's a relational experience where you'll:

  • Find your Crew: Lock in your "home base" immediately with our House system—the backbone of your Tyndale experience. Every new student will be sorted into one of five Houses at Tyndale.
  • Meet your Mentors: Tyndale profs care — they care about their areas of expertise, they care about knowledge, and they care for their students. They are here to help you discover and grow.
  • Explore the "6ix": Take part in a massive downtown scavenger hunt with your House.
  • Compete!: Earn points for your House in the legendary Golden Lamp Games, featuring relay races, trivia, and our ice t-shirt challenge.
  • Get Real Talk: Get "pro-tips" from student leaders who know how to manage learning, faith, and fun.

Day 2 — Tuesday September 8: Navigate the Course

Today and tomorrow are for all new Tyndale University students — both residential and commuters.

This is where the energy hits a new level. After a high-octane kickoff, you'll connect with your faculty, have a free lunch, tackle a library challenge, and then head downtown on the "Red Rocket" for an Urban Trek across Toronto's most iconic landmarks.

Day 3 — Wednesday September 9: Chart the (Academic) Map

With all new students again, you'll start with important sessions learning the academic ropes, then take part in the "Syllabus Survival Guide" from peers who've been there. You'll want to "carbo-load" for the Golden Lamp House Games and then we'll wrap it all up with some chill moments with new friends and tasty eats before classes start.

You'll connect. You'll explore. You'll discover. You'll belong.

From day one, you aren't just starting school—you're charting a course for who you're going to become. Welcome to the community!
