An Evening with the Author: Dr. Aimee Patterson

During our inaugural Evening with the Author event, you will meet Dr. Aimee Patterson, a Christian ethicist with The Salvation Army Ethics Centre and an adjunct faculty member at Booth University College. Aimee will share her moving story of cancer, grief, compassion, and what it means to suffer well. Writing for Christians who have walked through deep pain, Aimee explores how unexpected, profound, and innocent suffering can unsettle our whole lives, including our identity in Christ. Yet she reminds us that while suffering is unavoidable and unpredictable, God promises to transform all suffering into joy. Through her story of cancer and loss, she offers guidance for those facing unexpected pain, walking alongside someone who is suffering, or simply longing to understand how Christian identity is shaped in difficult seasons. This extraordinary evening will be a rich opportunity for conversation and questions, offering participants a chance to engage directly with Aimee and her work.
