Grief Facilitators Training: Equipping Church Leaders to Offer Compassionate Grief Care

This seven‑week formation series prepares grief‑care volunteers to serve with kindness, wisdom, and compassion. 

Participants will learn how to build a sustainable grief‑care ministry in their church, including pastoral support, volunteer recruitment, hospitality, budgeting, pacing, communication, and post‑group follow‑up. We’ll explore the essentials of small‑group dynamics and faith‑informed principles of adult learning. In the middle weeks, participants engage deeply with Alan Wolfelt’s Understanding Your Grief curriculum, gaining practical tools for companioning others through sorrow. The program concludes with guidance on continuing bonds, acts of remembrance, legacies, meaningful follow‑up gatherings, and future grief‑related offerings. Designed for both current volunteers and those discerning a call to grief‑care ministry, this series equips you to establish a compassionate ministry that meets the complex and evolving needs of those who are grieving.
