Professor & Van Norman Chair of Business
Biography
Eugene is Professor and the Van Norman Chair of Business at Tyndale. He has previously served on the faculties at Toronto Metropolitan University, Purdue University, Monash University, and the University of Technology Sydney. His research areas are primarily in consumer psychology, using methods and theories from psychology to understand how consumers make choices between brands and products, respond to advertising, and interact with AI in the marketplace.
His research has been published in Financial Times Top 50-listed journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics and the Journal of Consumer Psychology as well as other business-oriented journals like the Psychology & Marketing and the International Journal of Research in Business. He also serves either as an Associate Editor or on the Editorial Review Boards at Australasian Marketing Journal, Health Marketing Quarterly, and Psychology & Marketing. His teaching experience ranges from Marketing Research to Consumer Psychology to Data Analytics. He frequently incorporates AI methods into his teaching to make learning not just technologically-updated but adapted to each student's needs and progress.
He plays the piano and clarinet, is a member of the Band of the Royal Regiment of Canada, has participated or is participating in music worship teams in both Australia and Canada, and likes to go camping but admittedly hasn't done so in 20+ years.
