Harriet Thornhill
Tyndale University’s Board of Governors is pleased to announce its appointment of Harriet Thornhill as its 9th Chancellor to a three-year term, effective April 4, 2023.
“On behalf of the Board of Governors and as a proud Tyndale alumnus myself, I am delighted to have Harriet serve in the role of Chancellor,” said Board Chair Ross Clark. “Demonstrated through her extraordinary leadership, Harriet embodies what we hope for students, who will go out and live lives with passion and purpose, engaging societal issues and making an impact in the lives of those around them.”
Harriet is a values-based business leader with extensive leadership and business experience with RBC Royal Bank. In addition to an exceptional and distinguished career that has taken her throughout Quebec, Ontario and the Caribbean, Harriet has tirelessly coached, mentored and served others. Always an ambassador for growing the next generation of talent, Harriet has inspired and supported thousands of individuals to achieve their goals and dreams. As a community champion known for her leadership and passion for diversity and inclusion and development, she has served on several not-for-profit boards and advisory councils, has received numerous awards including being named one of the 100 Most Influential Black Canadians in 2022, and was honored to act as a Torchbearer for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
