Welcoming Dr. Madison Pierce
This summer, Tyndale University College will welcome Dr. Madison Pierce to its faculty as Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies and Theology. Dr. Pierce comes to Tyndale from Durham University in England, where she recently completed her PhD in Divinity. Her doctoral thesis entitled “Divine Discourse in the Epistle to the Hebrews” explored the scriptural citations spoken by the Father, Son, and Spirit in the book of Hebrews. During her time at Durham, Dr. Pierce taught courses at Cranmer Hall, St. John's College and was a co-organizer of the international conference Muted Voices: Neglected Texts and Early Christian Identities held at Durham University in April 2015. She has also contributed to the scholarly development of female students studying in Durham University’s Department of Theology & Religion as the co-organizer of the seminar group Café des Théologiennes.
Dr. Pierce brings to the University College winsome and thoughtful scholarship and a desire to not only teach students but also nurture their spiritual development. Outside the classroom, she and her husband Curtis enjoy camping, music, and spending time with their dog.
