Course Overview
The Senior English Additional Basic Qualification course is designed for educators who seek to expand their qualifications to teach English at the senior division (Grades 11–12) within the Ontario curriculum. Grounded in current pedagogy, curriculum policy, and assessment practices, this course deepens candidates’ knowledge of English language, literature, and communication while emphasizing critical thinking, creativity, and cultural relevance.
Prerequisite: a minimum of 5 undergraduate-level English courses.
Mark Miller Instructor
Mark has over 20 years of classroom experience in multiple departments in both Canada and the United States. He currently is an Instructional Coach for the Peel DSB, as well as a facilitator internationally on the topic of integrating instruction and assessment with technology.
