Course Description
Intermediate Instrumental Music offers a chance to examine the essential principles specific to intermediate learners, and based on the Ontario Curriculum. Course emphases include advocacy, accessibility, and leadership. Practical elements are designed to enhance and refine your musical abilities, and expand your understandings and skills in assessment and evaluation. Candidates will practice the skills of composition, conducting, music room management, leadership in the arts, community events for advocacy and awareness, and playing a brass or woodwind instrument. By the end of the course, you should feel confident running an instrumental music program and recognizing where to find the needed resources and supports.
Delivery Format
Asynchronous Online — Instructors and students engage in the course content at different times and from different locations. Attendance at a specific time or location is not required.

- Deadline date: Course start date.
- Candidates can still register after the deadline, until three days after the course start date
- Course Fees: $730
- Late registration fee: $50

Cheryl Metcalf Instructor
Cher has been teaching for 20 years mainly in the Arts. She has taught every grade from K-12 in Music, Dance and Drama and she has been a homeroom Kindergarten teacher as well. She started her career in the District School Board of Niagara and then taught at the Peel District School Board.
