Scholarships and awards are non-repayable sum of money awarded to a student in recognition of outstanding achievements such as high Tyndale GPA or giftedness in a particular area to help finance his/her education. Scholarships and most awards are merit-based.

Do not wait until the deadline to apply. Give yourself time to submit a quality application with all the required tasks completed.

Eligibility Requirements for Scholarships and Awards

General Eligibility Requirements

• Scholarship and award candidates must demonstrate solid academic achievement that is based on the student's GPA score.
• Candidates must meet the specific requirements which are requested by the donors.
• Leadership ability and potential as demonstrated through extracurricular activities, job-related performance, or similar experiences may be considered in awarding decisions.

Entrance Scholarships and Awards

• Entrance scholarships and awards are awarded based on the student's entrance criteria.
• Eligibility for entrance scholarship and awards assumes full-time enrollment (4 or more courses) during the award period.
• Students who are not enrolled in a full-time course load (1-3 courses) and are registered with Accessibility Services may qualify to receive a prorated portion of the entrance scholarship or award.
• Inform Student Financial Resources that you are a student registered with Accessibility Services.
• Contact Accessibility Services for more information on how to register as a student with a disability. 

Returning Student Scholarships and Awards

• Scholarships and awards for returning students are to be awarded to students who are not currently in their final year of the program.
• Returning students are students who are enrolled in Tyndale in the current academic year, not students who are entering their first year in the following academic year.
• Selection of returning award recipients will be made by the Scholarship & Awards Committee appointed by the Academic Standards Committee.
• Scholarships and awards for returning Undergraduate students assume and will require that the student will be returning to Tyndale and be enrolled in a full-time course load (4 or more courses) the following academic year.
• Undergraduate students who are not enrolled in a full-time course load (1-3 courses) and are registered with Accessibility Services may qualify to receive a prorated portion of the awarded returning student scholarship or award.
• Inform Student Financial Resources that you are a student registered with Accessibility Services.
• Contact Accessibility Services for more information on how to register as a student with a disability. Graduating Student Scholarships and Awards
• Scholarships and awards for graduating students are to be awarded to full-time or part-time students in their final year of their program.
• Selection of graduating scholarship and award recipients will be made by the Scholarship & Awards Committee appointed by the Academic Standards Committee.

Administration of Scholarships and Awards

• All awarded scholarships and awards are paid out in 50% installments per semester (i.e. a total scholarship of $1,000 will be paid out, $500 for fall semester and $500 for winter semester).
• Student Financial Services cannot prorate financial aid awarded to students who decide to enroll in a reduced
  course load.*
• Unawarded scholarships and awards cannot be carried forward to a future semester or academic year.
• Availability and amount of these scholarships and awards will vary from year to year.
• The scholarships and awards for returning students will first be applied toward the recipient’s tuition and fees (through the Student Financial Services Office) for the following academic year in which they are enrolled at Tyndale. Any funds in excess of the amount required for tuition and fees will be disbursed to the student for books, supplies, or school-related expenses.
• Entrance scholarship and award recipients will only be eligible to receive funds when the student is enrolled full-time.*
• In the case a student is enrolled full-time in one semester but part-time in another, they will receive the one full-time semester's portion of the bursary (i.e. The recipient is eligible for a $1000 scholarship and is enrolled full-time in the fall semester but part-time in the winter semester. The student will receive $500 in the fall semester and $0 in the winter semester.)
• The scholarships and awards for graduating students will be given in the form of a cheque payable to them at the Spring graduation of the current academic year.
• It is the student's responsibility to update and report any scholarships and awards to their government student aid applications (e.g. OSAP) as they may affect your funding amount.

President’s Scholarship Information

The President's Scholarship is an entrance scholarship awarded automatically to every qualified new full-time student who is accepted into a BA, BBA, BRE or Transitions program at Tyndale and meet the academic criteria below.

The scholarship amount differs based on your SAT, ACT, or CLT score or your GPA from your top six grade 12 U or M courses (including ENG4U) in your most recent academic transcript. Transfer or mature student's GPA will be taken from their most recent academic transcript.

New full-time students do not have to submit an application to receive this scholarship. They will be automatically considered for the President's Scholarship.
