Convocation Location:

Tyndale Chapel
Tyndale University
3377 Bayview Ave
Toronto, Ontario M2M 3S4

(416) 226-6620
contact@tyndale.ca

Convocation Duration:

The Convocation Ceremony is normally about 1.5 hours.

Reception:

Immediately following the Convocation Ceremony, a social gathering of all guests with graduates will take place in a designated area.

Tickets:

Some convocation ceremonies are ticketed and tickets (QR code) are distributed to the graduating student. Please obtain the QR code from the graduating student.

If the ceremony you are attending is not ticketed, anyone is welcome to attend the ceremony. In order to manage the Tyndale Chapel capacity, we do ask the graduating student to inform us if they have a large number of guests.

Seating:

There is no reserved seating, so we recommend that guests arrive early and are seated 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony to guarantee a seat.

Parking:

Parking is free but limited on site. There are several parking lots around the building and you can park wherever parking is available.

Arrival Time:

Tyndale University normally has two convocation ceremonies on the day. In order for staff to prepare for the ceremony, the doors to the Chapel will open approximately one hour before the ceremony. If you arrive early, please feel free to take a tour of the campus or line up to enter the chapel.

Photos during the Ceremony:

Guests are welcome to take photos of their graduate during the conferral as long as they are not blocking the graduate’s path or impede the flow of the ceremony.

Convocation Photography Policy

Photography inside the chapel during graduation is limited to standard practices including hired photographers. This means photos should be taken from your seat, with the option to briefly move to the front only when the graduate who hired you is being hooded and receiving their diploma. You are expected to return to your seat immediately afterward. These guidelines are the same as those in place for all guests and family members.

If you wish to request additional permissions, please contact the Provost’s Office directly at provost@tyndale.ca.

Please note that the official Tyndale photographer has full access and priority for coverage throughout the ceremony. All other photographers are expected to respect these boundaries. Images taken during the ceremony may not be used for marketing or shared on social media, and you may only photograph the graduate who hired you—not other participants.
