North America is increasingly culturally diverse and complex. It is essential that mental health practitioners remain sensitive and effective in this always evolving environment. The Tyndale Intercultural Ministries (TIM) Centre and the Christian Mental Health Practitioners Network (CMHPN) are pleased to collaboratively offer this exciting workshop on enhancing intercultural competence in psychotherapy.
Key Objectives
The objectives of this workshop include cultivating intercultural awareness, knowledge, and skills. More specifically:
- Personal development around intercultural concepts and dynamics
- Professional values and concepts that catalyze intercultural excellence in psychotherapy
- Clinical conversations and therapeutic issues that require an intercultural lens (e.g. power, equity and shame)
Speakers
The TIM Centre has been involved in working collaboratively with Canadian leaders and global organizations surrounding a diverse range of cross-cultural, multicultural, and intercultural conversations for decades. Whether in research, direct training, organizing shared events, or focused certificate level training, our leadership seeks to engage in relevant and applicable conversations with hands-on specificity.
