This is the full experience! It’s an entire weekend in the Tyndale community designed to give you a taste of being a student. Beginning Friday evening, guests are paired with host students and enjoy a fun event together. After spending the night in residence, the next day begins with a community breakfast to prepare you for the day, where you will discover program options, application information, and funding possibilities; explore the campus; and eat lunch with current students and faculty. This session offers an explanation of MAiD, enriched by an overview of its a) legal development (Criminal Code) and b) medical development (eligibility and safeguards and latest Health Canada report). It also introduces two tensions faced by clinicians and medical facilities: conscientious objection and the relationship between MAiD and other forms of end-of-life care, including palliative care.
Dealing with Disenfranchised Grief (Module 3)

This module will explore the nature of disenfranchised grief by understanding the language of grief and loss. Disenfranchised grief can include suicide, traumatic death, and other losses that are challenging to process because they are unacknowledged avoided or not legitimized. The second part of this module will provide training in setting up a support recovery group. This will include guidelines for groups, intake forms, the content of a good group, and learning to be a facilitator.
