Joyful & Triumphant | Christmas in the Chapel 2025 brings Christmas Cheer to Hundreds

Saj McKenley and Dr. Melissa Davis

The joy of the Christmas season was in full effect on Saturday, December 6, 2025: the 15th annual presentation of Tyndale University’s Christmas in the Chapel. This annual benefit concert supports Tyndale students directly through much-needed scholarships and bursaries. Over 870 attendees gathered in the Tyndale Chapel for exciting matinee and evening concerts.

Each concert began with opening remarks from Dr. Marjory Kerr, President and Vice Chancellor. She celebrated that both concerts were sold out, and warmly welcomed all of the guests, noting the many faithful concert goers who mark the beginning of the Christmas season by attending these concerts.

Classic Christmas favourites, like Joy to the World and O Holy Night, were sung by the Tyndale Community Choir and the TCC Band directed by Dr. Melissa Davis. Joy to the World, the opening song, did indeed fill the room with glee.

It was a delight to have Covenant Award-winning recording artist Saj McKenley, a long-time favourite artist at Tyndale concerts, join Christmas in the Chapel as our special artist this year. Saj is a Toronto-born recording artist whose rich vocals and soul-stirring songwriting have made a lasting mark on Canada’s gospel and inspirational music landscape. O Come All Ye Faithful and His Love is All I See were among the crowd pleasers sung by Saj.

In conversation with Kevin Kirk, SVP External Relations, student, Dennise Lorenzini Juárez, (BA 2028) reflected on the generosity of faithful Tyndale supporters whose gifts encouraged and kindled her deep sense of purpose and calling.

Nearly $100,000 was raised, bringing a measure of Christmas cheer to Tyndale’s financial aid thanks to our gracious sponsor La-Z-Boy, ticket sales, and donations.

Thank you to all who attended this beautiful celebration and reflected on the hope and renewal that is made available in Christ. May the rest of this season bring you great joy, love, and peace.
