Biography

Dr. Faught teaches in the areas of British, European, African, and Indian history. Prior to arriving at Tyndale in 2003, he taught mainly at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick and at the Universities of Windsor and Toronto. He is the author of seven books. Currently, he is working on a new book for Yale University Press on the British-sponsored Cairo Conference of 1921and how it shaped the creation of the modern Middle East. He has also written a large number of both scholarly and feature articles, of which one of the latter was nominated for a National Magazine Award, along with many reviews. He is a Fellow of both the Royal Historical Society and the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, and a Senior Fellow of Massey College in the University of Toronto. He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Wycliffe College, Toronto. In 2012, Dr. Faught was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for distinguished services to History.
