A 2-day training covering a wide range of topics for pastors and ministry leaders who work with individuals with mental health concerns. Topics include Mental Health and Mental Illness, Self-Care, Understanding Psychotherapy, Barriers to Psychotherapy, Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy, and Collaborating with Tyndale Wellness Centre.

This module will explore what it means to grieve and lament, we will learn how to help others in their time of sorrow and loss. Special attention will be paid to the Psalms as a resource for encouragement for those dealing with death.

Disability, Theology and Spiritual Formation Certificate

This is an introductory program in Disability Theology. Students will examine the realities of living with a disability in contemporary society and their theological and spiritual implications. These modules will also delve into a practical theology regarding living and working with individuals with disabilities and their incorporation into our spiritual communities.

“A Day in the Life” is a unique on-campus experience designed to give prospective undergraduate students an authentic look at what it means to be a student at Tyndale University. Students will be paired with current students who will serve as hosts for the day.

This session describes a number of ethical concerns that relate to individual people, systems, and values. It reviews the dominance of individual autonomy over concern for persons made vulnerable by disability, poverty, and mental illness. It points out problems in the governance of MAiD, including low accountability in reporting and monitoring. Finally, it reveals how values in the public medicine have changed to accommodate MAiD.

This week, Dr. John Moon, Lecturer in New Testament at Tyndale Seminary will be with us. John has had pastoral experience in both Chicago and Toronto and is passionate about equipping the next generation of Christian leaders for ministry in an increasingly secular and pluralistic context.
