Media Arts

Production

Overview

Students enrolling in Tyndale University’s BA Media Arts - Production program will gain a wide variety of practical skills and theoretical knowledge over their four years in class and in the field. While learning the nuts and bolts of Dramatic Filmmaking, Social Media Production and Documentary Filmmaking, you will be given the opportunity to create projects that express unique messages related to your own interests. Even a survey course like The Practice of Film Theory puts knowledge into practice with weekly hands-on media projects.

Students work with charities and non-profit organizations in their third and fourth years, creating media for clients, learning professional etiquette, and making contacts for employment after graduation.

Tyndale's Media Arts programs are designed to enable students to develop as meaningful creative storytellers, empowered with the technical skills to work, serve, and lead in creative and Christian communities. Students will be mentored as filmmakers, media artists, and content leaders equipped to tell 21st century audio-visual stories from a Christian worldview.

Media Arts courses in this program are delivered primarily through competency based online courses. Students will be encouraged by mentors and fellow-students in forums and weekly critiques as they develop their talents.
