Edward Rajaratnam

A seasoned business advisor with over 25 years of experience at Ernst & Young, Edward is a Partner and currently serves as the National Leader for the Employment Tax practice at EY Canada. In this role, he provides strategic advisory services to multinational organizations, helping them manage employment tax risks while aligning workforce strategies with broader business objectives with pragmatic solutions. Deeply integrated with EY’s People Advisory Services, Edward has been instrumental in building high performing teams by unlocking their full potential to deliver exceptional client service, while keeping humans at the centre. 

Edward is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) with a background of performing external financial audits and internal control assessments early in his career, in the public and private sector.

Recognized as a trusted advisor and thought leader, Edward is a frequent speaker and panelist at Canadian and global conferences, contributing insights on employment tax, governance, and workforce transformation. 

Edward brings significant nonprofit and faith-based governance experience, currently serving on the boards of World Hope International, the mission arm of the Canadian Wesleyan Church, and the Tamil Christian Church of Canada, where he has served for over a decade. In addition, he is actively engaged in youth mentorship and international outreach initiatives, including mission and development work in Sri Lanka.

Edward is happily married to Daisy and are privileged to raise their 2 children, Tiana and Tasha in a Christ centered home.
