Peter Jon Mitchell
Tyndale (MTS, ThM 2011)
Peter Jon has spent nearly two decades researching and writing about Canadian families in an effort to increase family stability through strengthening social institutions and encouraging sound public policy.
He began his career in youth ministry while completing his MTS. This early experience with youth and their families informed his later policy research in areas such as youth criminal justice, and policy responses to bullying.
He joined the Institute of Marriage and Family Canada (IMFC) in 2006 as an analyst, eventually accepting the role of Director of Research. During this time, he completed his ThM, where he further developed sound research and reasoning skills.
In 2016, the IMFC was folded into Cardus, a think tank rooted in 2000 years of Christian thought, where he became the Director of its Family Program in 2019.
He has coauthored of the forthcoming book, Imagining Marriage Still Matters, inviting readers to explore how a healthy marriage culture benefits society.
